81st Meeting of the Annual Acadian Entomological Society in Corner Brook, NL
Peggy Dixon was a dedicated, long time, member of the Acadian Entomological Society (AES) and Entomological Society of Canada. She helped organize a number of AES and Joint Annual Meetings. Peggy loved Newfoundland and Labrador and was always encouraging others to come visit and explore. Peggy was an avid entomologist who worked for Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada and was an Adjunct Professor at Memorial University in St John’s, NL. She authored several entomological research articles, book chapters, and co-authored a field guide to the Insects of Newfoundland and Labrador. Most importantly, she was a very compassionate and kind person who always made time for people who needed her, especially students.
In honour of Peggy’s memory, the AES is pleased to offer travel awards to help students offset costs associated with traveling to Newfoundland for our annual meeting in 2024. Total number and dollar amount for awards will depend on number of applicants.
Please see the application form for details.
